Cades Cove – 10 mi. SW of Townsend in Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Cade’s Cove, located around 30 miles from the Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort, is the most popular part of the Smoky Mountains. Its 6,800-acre valley is famed for its stunning views and is the home of many structures from the early 1800s. Historic churches, grist mills, and pioneer cabins, all of which have been restored, can be found here, as can the strong presence of the history of the area.
On your visit to Cades Cove, you will be able to observe an incredible variety of animals, such as raccoons, whitetail deer, coyotes, and black bears. Keep a respectful distance, however, as this will help to preserve the environment and ensure your safety. As you travel along the 11-mile, one-way Cades Cove Loop Road, you can enjoy a peaceful ride as you admire the stunning mountain tops, wildflower meadows, and rolling greens. It typically takes between two and four hours to make the full loop, but you won’t want it to end.
